two letters sent home to girlfriend (postmarked September 30 & October 3, 1942 San Antonio Texas)
one has 'Free' for stamp, other an 6-cent
airmail
stamp
4-page handwritten letter & 2-page handwritten letter (pages are back to back)
each has one with Kelly Field letterhead logo with wings in silver
letters read in part ....
Once more I hail thee my beloved from the rain-soaked environs of Kelly which now is vaguely reminiscent of good old East Jesus ... I eagerly snatched these moments to write to the soul of my being ... kept awake and alert only be the Articles of War hanging over his head ... the prison doors will be flung askew and thousands of stir-
