    Description

This is a brilliantly colored advertising wall mirror from "Grand Marnier Liqueur".
Grand Marnier built their first distillery in 1827.  It was started by Jean Baptiste Lapostolle in the small city of Neauphle-le-Chateau, France.  His granddaughter, Julia, married Louis Andre Marnier in 1876.  A few years later, the Mariners released a signature cognac using Haitian bitter oranges.
Swiss hotel owner, Cesar Ritz came up with the name "Grand Marnier" for the Marnier-Lapostolle partnership.  In return, the partnership helped Ritz purchase and start the Hotel Ritz Paris.  Grand Marnier was served at this hotel, and well as the Hotel Savoy.
I don't know the significance of the graphics on this piece.  I think it was an advertising piece from the 1970's or so.  This piece is 8" x 10" x 1" thick.
The graphics are bright and beautiful.  It states, "Drop Coins and Bills Thru Top - Thank You - Marnier/Lapostolle - Grand Marnier Liqueur".  The mirror is pitted some around the edges.  The metal frame is pitting quite a bit, as shown in my pictures.  There is a cardboard backing making it ready to hang or stand on the counter.
Shipping for this rare piece will be only .00 anywhere in the U.S. for 2-4 day mail.
