    Description

    This is an October 23, 1943 Lay-Off Card from Commercial Iron Works in Portland, Oregon.  It indicates that the employee Frances Newbegin left to join the Merchant Marine during World War Two.  The piece is light paper with carbon writing and is 6" by 4".  It has some creases and light wear but is overall in very good condition.
